 The sed problem is unrelated. Insofar, that a ghostscript built from 
 pkgsrc always has this problem (independent of install path), while a 
 ghostscript built standalone does not.
 
 The effect of this problem is, that the pdfwriter driver (and maybe 
 others) is not compiled into ghostscript.
