Sounds like it is one program that does exactly what was asked.  (I thought
that there was something like this in the base system, but the only name
that came to mind was "xev", which isn't it...)  ...well, okay, *can* be
made to do exactly what was asked.  (^&  (I haven't used it, but the
DESCR is promising.)
