I don't think so.  I certainly wouldn't commit such changes.  Like I said, 
contractions (not just "there's") are all over the place in our documentation.  
Quite a lot of them are informal.  I don't think this is a real problem.  In 
some cases, I think it's even a good thing.  There's only one contraction I'd 
ever want to (but wouldn't actually) ban from the tree, and that is "it's," but 
that's just because people so often use it improperly.

It doesn't make much difference to me whether it's "only 7" or not, but for the 
record, there are more than 7:
