I tested qemu-system-aarch64 10.2 from homebrew. I see the error with 11.1.

I think this is related to qemu 11.1 support for

ARM: ‘virt’ board support for specifying cache topology, ‘hvf’ accelerator now supports nested virtualization and vGIC
