I obtained a HP Jornada 720 to try NetBSD/hcparm on, it seems that the installer panics at the same place on NetBSD 7.0-RELEASE & HEAD.
Installer fetches kern-JORNADA720.tgz (I'm using HTTP) & attempting to extract it, results in a panic:
