The NetBSD/Xen HOWTO says:
When partitioning the disk, because of limitations/bugs in grub, you
have to make the root partition smaller than 512Mb
In the year 2012, a 512 MB limit is ridiculous. I keep hearing that
it's possible to avoid the limit by using the native NetBSD bootloader
instead of grub, but as long as that method isn't documented, it may
as well not exist.
