>Originator: Andreas Gustafsson
>Release: NetBSD 4.99.64
>Organization:
>Environment:
System: NetBSD guam.gson.org 4.99.64
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:

If I attempt to boot a -current kernel, such as the one from

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/HEAD/200806020002Z/i386/binary/kernel/netbsd-GENERIC.gz

on a Toshiba Libretto L2 laptop, it hangs during autoconfiguration
after printing the line

  fxp0 at pci0 dev 14 function 0: i82559 Ethernet, rev 8

A few lines earlier, there is the message

  autri0: can't map memory space

I believe the hang is actually caused by some problem with the autri
driver, because if I disable it using "boot -c" followed by "disable
autri", the machine boots successfully.

The following 4.0 branch kernels also both boot successfully:

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-4/200805280002Z/i386/binary/kernel/netbsd-GENERIC.gz

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-4/200805280002Z/i386/binary/kernel/netbsd-GENERIC_LAPTOP.gz

I suspect the problem started with autri.c revision 1.37,
because it applies a patch which caused identical symptoms
when I tried it earlier; see

  http://mail-index.netbsd.org/current-users/2008/01/28/msg000550.html

It would be helpful if someone else who also has an autri audio
chipset could try to reproduce the problem.

>How-To-Repeat:

Just boot -current on a Libretto L2, or possibly on some other
machine having an autri audio chipset.
