     No, it is in fact terrible!  Lack of documentation is as bad if
not worse then out of date documentation.  At least with out of date
documentation you get a lead on something, with lack of documentation
you don't get anything.

idea to mention that it will be going away in a future version.

     I do.  It is a feature in all released versions.  It should be
documented.  The only proper thing here is to put it back.
