yeah, there is a difference.

I didn't get from your original mail that you meant between old
www.NetBSD.org and the new one.

The font currently used is the one the vast majority of other guys
preferred. I don't really care too much at all. If one doesn't like
the font size or family: That's what browser preferences and
font-resizing is for. There is no single solution that satisfies all
different personal preferences, browsers, settings, screen resolutions
etc. The current font specification largely follows W3C
recommendations, i.e., I don't specify a particular font-size to be
used. I only specify 'small', which results in the font whatever your
browser with your preferences considers to be a small font.
