Whatever, as long as stuff is kept in one place.

besides packages.7, there's als mk.conf.example - can you spell
redundancy? no? then try adding a variable to bsd.pkg.mk that users can
override. This situation is highly suboptimal.

And maintaining yet another piece of documentation in another place
doesn't make this better, which was the point of my mail.

If you want to convert Packages.txt to a different format, go ahead.
If you want to kill packages.7 and/or mk.conf.example, go for it.
Just don't make things *worse*.
