The Backstory
I have an old eMachine originally bought with Windows 7 on it, and
the video is nVidia. I decided to use that machine to return to my
love of using NetBSD, and with some bumps in the road, many of them
reported on netbsd-users, I have arrived at a running install of
8.0, with mail and GPG running.
Additional Info
But I need X, of course. I am trying to build xorg from pkgsrc but
that is not yet successful, so I am using X "native" to NetBSD, if
that's the term I ought to be using.
Cut To The Chase
In order to permit 8.0 to boot, I had to use userconf to disable
nouveau. Now, X -configure fails, but it is listing nouveau as its
driver. (file attached)
Should I be re-enabling nouveau, somehow?
Thank you. All best,
