Radeon HD 3450 X problem

Trying to get X running on a Radeon HD 3450 card on a -current/i386 
from yesterday.  Tried with both the pkgsrc X and the native X and in 
both cases the whole machine hangs when X tries to start.  In the 
native case prints the following then the whole machine locks up:
