Yes.
The following command can convert UTF-8 locale definition to the
COMPOUND_TEXT definition:

$ iconv -f utf-8 -t euc-jp < ja_JP.UTF-8.src | iconv -f euc-jp -t ctext > 
ja_JP.ct.src 


Note that the direct conversion like the following CANNOT convert it:

$ iconv -f utf-8 -t ctext < ja_JP.UTF-8.src > ja_JP.ct.src 


So, please use the former command.

I still have some text files which are encoded in COMPOUND_TEXT.
