I think you should elaborate a bit on this statement, which, taken for itself, does not make any sense.


If the criteria of a good solution is "one that cross-builds and doesn't
force unified indentation", then we don't know how to classify good
solutions. :(

Oh, and Hubert, this should definitely go in base, so that we can stop
writing software in C. If it does more than a few syscalls and doesn't
need to be "fast" (e.g., a package manager), it should not be written in
C.
