sh(1) vs. ksh(1)

From <http://issues.sxemacs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89>:

[hf@Gstoder] /<2>sxemacs/sxemacs-22.1.9 > /bin/sh ./config.sub sun4
sparc-sun-sunos4.1.1
[hf@Gstoder] /<2>sxemacs/sxemacs-22.1.9 > /bin/ksh ./config.sub sun4
"./config.sub" not found
[hf@Gstoder] /<2>sxemacs/sxemacs-22.1.9 > /usr/pkg/bin/bash ./config.sub sun4
sparc-sun-sunos4.1.1
[hf@Gstoder] /<2>sxemacs/sxemacs-22.1.9 > uname -a
NetBSD Gstoder 4.0_STABLE NetBSD 4.0_STABLE (SPG_PIII) #0: Tue Aug 12 13:16:17 CEST 2008 hf@Hochstuhl:/var/obj/netbsd-builds/4/i386/sys/arch/i386/compile/SPG_PIII i386

The configure they use for whatever reason prefers bash over ksh, and ksh over sh, to run the script.

Known ksh(1) bug? Should I send-pr?
