JT: application, the first step is almost always "compile with -O0".

Heh.  seems the man pages are becoming more and more relevant with all
the changes, though its difficult to wade through all that sometimes
when you're looking for what seems a needle in a haystack.

Thank you, Jason -- that reply makes a heck of a lot more sense to
a rusty programmer such as myself.
