At least under 1.3.1 - if necessary I'll try it under 1.4.2 - I seem
unable to use the PNG format because of a missing resolution of
_crc32.

Anyone point me to a good source for this routine (Linux? :-), and
could the package maintainers please note the dependency?

I _can_ write my own CRC checksum, although I'll only get to the
necessary documentation early next week, so a shortcut is welcome.
