And IMO, it's one of the worst.

We're BSD, dammit.  If you want to go start NetSysV and do this, I'll
fully support your project.

I've used BSD since 4.1c, and it's never gone down this particular road
of good intentions.  I've also used SysV-based vendor OSes that use
runlevels, and comparing that way to real BSD is where I get my
preference for the BSD way.
