This is not germane to macppc; I am seeing it as well in i386.

I've used 'nbmake' from my ${TOOLDIR} and have ${TOOLDIR} in my path;
sources updated at 3:00 this morning, ${TOOLDIR}/bin/nb*-${ARCH}
just rebuilt.

I get the same problem.
