Sorry, I was wrong on this.

Actually, I do not see why your build would ever reach that directory, if not
by manually cd'ing there and running "make". It should not be in the SUBDIRS
list of the parrent directory.

The libstc++ should come with your toolchain (on sparc64, that is). You 
rebuild it using the compiler rebuilding instructions in the sparc64 FAQ.

It is necessary to prevent the global build from overwriting or installing
a broken version. But I do not see how that would happen.
