Hi Gordon,

Just what does "ignored" mean?  IIRC, the changes werent in time to
get into 4.17, but are none of them in the latest development
snapshot?    

The gdb developers may be low on cycles and may think some of the
user-visible changes are gratuitous.  But the config and port-specific
backend changes really should go in.
