dsa, if you listen to Schnorr or RSA. Of course, RSA maintain that
(now that they own them anyway :) the old Stanford patents cover
public-key cryptography per se, regardless of the algorithm.

But really, it's all a wank. 50% of the kernel is probably covered by
one software patent or another.
