Heh. I know the variable exists and yes, I would prefer to see those
packages fixed to not build stuff in the install phase. I don't have a
(very) strong opinion about this though.
It should also be kept in mind that the need e.g. for Python is highly
platform dependent. On older NetBSD the default files are used, on newer
that breaks. I'm not aware of other platforms where it doesn't work.
