When trying to build x11/xcursor on a freshly installed FreeBSD 5.5
system I get

checking for xfixes... gnome-config: not found
gnome-config: not found
Package xfixes was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps
you should add the directory containing `xfixes.pc' to the
PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'xfixes' found
configure: error: Library requirements (xfixes) not met; consider
adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries
are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
*** Error code 1

Stop.

config.log has:

configure:20624: checking for xfixes
configure:20663: error: Library requirements (xfixes) not met;
consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your
libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

the problem seems to be that gnome-config is not installed. This is
no wonder given that no gnome packages are installed at this point.
However, the configure script implicitly seems to require them
(through pkg-config I'd guess).
Are there any missing dependencies that cause this issue?
