    (1) Remove the added entries on package deletion, similar to what is
        currently done with /etc/shells.


Another option:

  add those entries into /etc/services in the base system if that's
  reasonable (IANA assigned or well known)

  fix the packages to work anyway without /etc/services entry.
  Typically programs look up service and then use the number if not found.
