I forgot to answer about this part ... I do not know how to handle this 
when a package has been renamed. This has been discussed before, but I 
don't recall what the solution is. One idea is to have that tool parse the 
CHANGES* file for "Renamed" (of course that doesn't help here since I 
haven't done that yet. Sorry!)
