I'm using Xorg on amd64 with an ATI X800 card. I can display the root
window just fine, but if I try to use any application whatsoever
(xterm, xconsole, twm, anything) I get this message:
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for op=
erati
on)
Major opcode of failed request: 1 (X_CreateWindow)
Value in failed request: 0x28
Serial number of failed request: 33
Current serial number in output stream: 41
Obviously, this precludes using X for anything besides basking in the
warm glow of the root window because the window manager dies followed
by the server in under one second. ;)
I have absolutely no idea what to do (argh!), and would hate to give
up NetBSD because I cannot solve this problem. If anyone wants to
help me, I will send them Xorg logs and such.
I do not think this is a driver problem, though; the display is fine.=20
It just exits with that error.
