Are you sure that the current Bell-Labs / Lucent version of awk is
really older than nawk, language wise? :-)

The version DragonFly ships is the 2004/02/07 release from the Bell
Labs. I'm pretty sure it is much less ancient than most nawk versions
delivered by Commerical Systems :-)
