I suggest using mtree. It's in the base and can do anything tripwire
or aide can. Actually, I used AIDE from 2000-2003, and eventually I switche=
d=20
to mtree on all my NetBSD machines.
I am currently working on organizing the managament of pkgs I've
installed on servers at work. My idea is to feed the pkg_info and
other metadata (hostname ...) to a PostgreSQL database with some=20
kind of simple WWW interface.=20
Would this be (at least in parts) useful for your work?
