I am guessing one of the following is not defined:

RM
TEST
LN
MV
AWK
PKG_DELETE
MTREE  (but not used by this x11-links though)
MAKE
MAKE_PROGRAM
TOOLS_PLATFORM.gunzip

You can test each one like:

cd /usr/pkgsrc/pkgtools/x11-links

make show-var VARNAME=MV
... and so on ...


I have carbon copied tech-pkg list and set reply-to to it. It may have 
better assistance ...
