What i have trouble coming up with is the time (and disk space)
to test such a change.  So go ahead and add it to your list, and
i'll keep this patch local.

Does it really cause things to break?  Mostly it seems to reveal
other problems.  What would allowing libiconv to be installed
accomplish other than hiding bugs like this and having some
packages using the iconv symbols in libc and others using the
iconv symbols in libiconv?
