Hi,

you mentioned addinga  progress bar to "make extract" on IRC today.
Try the following, either in /etc/mk.conf (untested) or after 
EXTRACT_CMD.bin in bsd.pkg.mk:

EXTRACT_CMD.tar.gz?=	progress -z -f $${extract_file} tar -xf -

Of course that won't work if you don't have progress(1), or if you want 
EXTRACT_USING_PAX, but that's left as an exercise. :)
