Hi!
jmmv@ and I agree that we should get rid of gnome1 except as needed
for gnucash (and of course keeping gnome2 fully functional).
Here's a list I came up with, cross-checked by jmmv, for packages
to be removed:
cad/oregano
chat/gabber
chat/xchat-gnome
comms/gnome-pilot
databases/gtranscript
devel/glade
devel/gnome-objc
devel/gob
devel/gtkdiff
devel/libsigc++10
editors/gnotepad
games/gnome-breakout
games/gnome-chess
games/gnome-games
graphics/ee
graphics/eog
graphics/gnome-pixmaps
meta-pkgs/edesktop
meta-pkgs/gnome1
misc/gnome-pim
misc/gnome-utils
misc/ooqstart
multimedia/gnome-media
net/gnapster
net/gtm
print/ggv
sysutils/gtop
sysutils/libgtop
sysutils/rox-system
x11/gnome--
x11/gnome-applets
x11/gnome-core
x11/gnome-python
x11/gnome-users-guide
x11/gnome1-panel
x11/gnome1-session
x11/gtk--
All other packages (including e.g. ogle_gui) should keep working as-is.
Many of these packages have gtk2- or gnome2-based replacements, e.g.
eog2, glade2, gnome2-games, gob2, py-gnome2.
Any comments?
Barring comments, I'll probably proceed with the package removal
next week.
Thomas
