Does net/host compile out of the box on an OS other than NetBSD?
It looks like it direktly uses Makefile, which is slightly patched to
support NetBSD.
The various settings for different operations systems found in that file
seem to be proposals only which are not actually used.
On IRIX, for example, RES must be empty to compile the package, because
there is no libresolv. I would suspect similar problems on Solaris.
Linux and *BSD might be closer to the defaults used there.
