tech-pkg: CHECK_FILES and /etc/gimp/2.0/.pkgsrc

My mk.conf has:

 PKG_DEVELOPER=  yes
 CHECK_FILES=    YES
 CHECK_FILES_STRICT=     YES
 PKG_SYSCONFBASE=        /etc

Installing gimp complains:

*** The package has modified /etc/gimp/2.0 contents directly!
    The offending files/directories are:
        /etc/gimp/2.0
        /etc/gimp/2.0/.pkgsrc
*** Error code 1

I have:

reed@puget:/usr/pkgsrc/graphics/gimp$ ls -ld /etc/gimp/2.0 /etc/gimp/2.0/.pkgsrc
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root 4096 Jan 19 10:17 /etc/gimp/2.0
-rw-r--r--  1 root root    5 Jan 19 09:51 /etc/gimp/2.0/.pkgsrc

pkgsrc/gimp/Makefile has:

PKG_SYSCONFSUBDIR=      gimp/2.0

Is this the correct behaviour for CHECK_FILES?
