I've just stumbled into an interesting situation with squirrelmail.
It uses php-gettext to localize its dialogs, but that didn't quite
work, even though php-gettext was installed (it is specified as a
dependancy).  Alas, at least with squirrelmail, php-gettext doesn't
work if it uses the system gettext libraries.  After installing GNU
gettext through pkgsrc and placing that in PREFER_PKGSRC, reinstalling
php-gettext, things suddenly worked.

Maybe something with php-gettext isn't quite right?
