I just updated/rebuilt x11/kdebase3 package and i don't see there kio_smb 
kioslave component. Same as net/samba dependency and so on. AFAIR in the past 
there was USE_SAMBA=YES|NO option in makefile where i could control do i need 
or not samba binding. What happened with it? When kio_smb finally started to 
work quite fine with the latest samba and KDE it is removed.. What is the 
reason? Living in heterogenous LAN environment sometimes i had to access SMB 
machines..
