If you use Linux and mozilla from pkgsrc, what do you use for java
applets (also hopefully from pkgsrc)?

This is under LTSP 4.0 using packages built under SuSE Linux 9.0.

Installed is:

mozilla-1.7.2 Full featured gecko-based browser
mozilla-gtk2-1.7.2 Full featured gecko-based browser built with GTK2

I tried using sun-jre14-2.5's
/usr/pkg/java/sun-1.4/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so symlinked in
/usr/pkg/lib/mozilla/plugins/ (and also mozilla-gtk2/plugins).

mozilla would not start and I received the error:

INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?

System error?:: Success

I had seen references to the error above but never a real fix other than
using different sun-jre version or different mozilla version.

I also tried using /usr/pkg/java/sun-1.4/plugin/i386/ns4/libjavaplugin.so
instead and mozilla would run and it would show the plugins, but at
javatester.org it failed the "what version of java are you running?" test.
It says "Browser has Java disabled".

about:plugins shows the following:

 - <?X@ Plug-in 1.4.2_05-b04
(yes it does have some garbage above)

    File name: libjavaplugin.so
    Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.2_05

And many mimetypes enabled. I don't see anything under Edit->Preferences
for enabling java.

If you use Linux and mozilla from pkgsrc, what do you use for java
applets (also hopefully from pkgsrc)?

Thank you,
