Just to throw an alternaitive option. A large part of the
 	time it takes to update	pkgsrc is down to the large number of
 	patch files.

 	Personally I'd like to see patches concatenated together based on
 	the sorted file order. We would obviously have a mkpatches like
 	tool to split (into one patch per file, named for the file to
 	patch as in Roland's suggestion) and merge...
