Please in pkgsrc/news/inn/Makefile also add

--with-news-user=${INN_USER} \
--with-news-group=${INN_GROUP}

to the CONFIGURE_ARGS list. ("news" happens to be the default value for both
of them).
Other than that: yes, exactly what I had in mind (and was in fact just
about to patch myself....)
