Because the right name of the project is quake2forge, and not quake2. There
are two known ports of quake2, for example:

http://www.icculus.org/quake2/
http://www.quakeforge.net/

In the future we could import quake2 from icculus, and will have two quake2
binaries, so renaming the binary is fine IMO.
