Well, I tried hard to patch my mk/buildlink3/gen-transform.sh
file without success until I realized, that this file actually
has those dollar signs your patch should give it. But according
to the RCS Id I do have revision 1.26 from March 13th of that
file. Is something wrong with your patch or am I just plain dumb?

Even more strange: after updating pkgsrc today gtk2+ built
without a problem.
