mozilla-gtk2 was recently changed in the same way.
"Explicitly enable Xft support in mozilla-gtk2; it is already beeing used
by the GUI (because of gtk2), so do it the right way by adding support
everywhere."
I'm trying to think of a reason that someone would install the
firefox-gtk2 package but not want Xft support, and I can't think of one.
