I observed something similar when I was building my first packages on
MacOS X (10.1.5, 10.2.8). It did repeat the configuration step, but
only did so once (i.e., two iterations) after which it proceeded to
build and install and seems to have given me no trouble.
I suppose if you see it go through the motions more than twice, that
might indicate a problem.
