it is unfortunate that you see it this way.

I do in fact care about transcode, but I had neither seen your mail
nor got around to investigating the problem(s) due to other
priorities.

obviously you cared enough about the package to have investigated and
fixed some problems .. given there was no objection I would have just
committed the fixes.
