Is it intended behaviour?

Shouldn't it just upgrade 1.7.6 to 1.7.9 instead of breaking my
all-night-long build ?

*** They install the same files into the same place.
*** Please remove automake-1.7.6  first with pkg_delete(1).
*** Error code 1
