There are two different distfiles on ftp.netbsd.org.
One, for the older package, in
/pub/NetBSD/packages/distfiles
and one, for the updated package, in
/pub/NetBSD/packages/distfiles/Mesa-5.0.2

The second one has this size.

Did you download the file manually?
