That would be nice, but then we would roll back to the early days of pkgsrc
(before dewey DEPENDS) when you needed a *precise* version of a dependency,
rather than being able to use a newer ABI-compatible version.  The latter
case is much more comfortable when it comes to emergency patch upgrades of
packages, for instance with security hole fixes.
