Well, the operation was a success, but the patient died.  I built
editors/manedit in my sandbox, but I can't install the binary package
because of dependencies (without deinstalling half my workstation).  And I
can't run it from inside the chroot because it can't connect to its
$DISPLAY.  Hmph.  

That led me to thinking about pkgviews, which I could swear I remember
seeing a writeup about on the website, but if it's there now, my eyes are
failing me.  

Is there such an article, or did I happen across it in CVS or somesuch?
