According to pkg/19647, there is a problem with Makefiles :
When I try to build converters/libiconv, I end up with this error
(Command line wrapped and shortened)
cd /usr/tmp/pkgsrc/converters/libiconv/work.i386/libiconv-1.8
&& USETOOLS=no MAKECONF=/dev/null USETOOLS="no" OBJECT_FMT="ELF"
LIBTOOL="/usr/tmp/pkgsrc/converters/libiconv/work.i386/.buildlink/bin/libtool "
[...snip...]
BUILDLINK_LDFLAGS="-L/usr/pkg/lib -Wl,-R/usr/pkg/lib" CC="cc" CXX="c++"
LD="ld"
make check |& tee /usr/tmp/pkgsrc/converters/libiconv/work.i386/check.log
Syntax error: "&" unexpected
I never saw a syntax like "|&" and my shell didn't, either,
apparently.
The only reference I found to that is in "bsd.pkg.defaults.mk"
>GAWK_ENABLE_PORTALS?= NO
># Used by gawk package to enable/disable handling file names that start with
># `/p/' as a 4.4 BSD type portal file, i.e., a two-way pipe for `|&'.

># Default: NO
Anyway, it does not help...
